Today is the last day to get Founding Member Pricing!

Tuition rates go up 25% tomorrow, September 1!

Remember, when you sign up your tuition will never go up for as long as you remain an active member.

I have added a new feature to The Music Hub!

One of the challenges with online piano courses and apps is that a teacher isn't available to check your playing.

Are you remembering to sit with proper posture? Are your fingers, hands, arms or shoulders holding tension that you didn't notice? Are you keeping an internal sense of a steady beat? Are you using good fingering?

There's all kinds of things you can miss. We have blind spots, just like there are blind spots on a car.

Not because you aren't progressing or doing well, but simply because you're so caught up in the notes and rhythms you can't keep track of everything all at once.

Even professional pianists benefit from the feedback of other people and will often seek out private lessons from master teachers as they prepare for big concerts!

The problem with group sessions is that many adults may not feel comfortable sharing their progress in front of other people.

For these two reasons, I am implementing a new feature into The Music Hub.

Now, Music Hub Members can submit videos of their playing to me privately for personalized, private feedback.

This is like having an asynchronous private lesson.

You share your playing with me. My eyes and ears are the only ones on it. I give you feedback through a personal message.

You don't have to play publicly if you don't want to, but I can still see your progress.

I will continue to hold group sessions, aka "office hours," if you want live help on something, but the video portal provides another avenue for feedback.

How Does the Music Hub Compare?

You don't have to be a concert pianist or even an advanced pianist to begin finding fulfillment in playing meaningful music!

In addition to over 70 original works in The Music Hub, I also include arrangements of folk songs, like

  • Shenandoah
  • 900 Miles
  • Sakura, Sakura
  • Wayfaring Stranger
  • And many, many more!

I also incorporate hymns, Christmas carols, Blues tunes, and very easy classical pieces.

You will find something you love to play inside The Music Hub!

The Music Hub will help you

  • Read music fluently
  • Play with both hands together
  • Play in multiple positions on the keyboard (not just in one spot or one key.)
  • Play with feeling (dynamics and articulation)
  • Understand sharps and flats
  • Understand intervals and chords
  • Understand fingerings

The learning continues on, too. When you are done with the Piano Accelerator Levels 1&2, you will be able to learn scales and chords and how to read lead sheets. Plus, there are modules for additional genres of music!

New lessons are added every month!

Join today to get Founding Member Pricing for as long as you remain an active member!

Notes from The Music Hub October 5, 2026 Knowing Note Names Is Not Reading Music Have you ever sat down to learn a new piece of music and become frustrated with how long it takes? You’ve learned the letter names. You’ve filled out the worksheets. Maybe you’ve even memorized the lines and spaces. But you're still asking yourself, "Why is this SO hard?" Here’s the problem: Knowing the note names is not the same thing as being fluent at reading music. Over the last few weeks, I've been teaching...

The semester is about halfway over already. We are currently in the 7th week of the semester and fall break is next week. In many ways, the semester is running quite smoothly. I have three very long days. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I leave the house at 6:30am. On Monday, I get home at 6:30PM. On Wednesday, I head to choir rehearsal after I get out of school and get home at about 9:30PM. On Fridays, I get home at 6:30PM unless I attend a concert or meet someone for dinner. I have classes...

Notes from The Music Hub September 28, 2026 What Fur Elise Taught Me About Meter A few weeks ago, one of my students in The Music Hub who has graduated from the Piano Accelerator program asked me about learning Fur Elise by Beethoven. Fur Elise is a great intermediate level piece of music, and a "crowd favorite", so-to-speak, so I was happy to oblige. I am in the process of creating tutorials and demonstration videos on how to play the piece. But the first thing I did was re-engrave the...
